Directions to the Festival Site

By Car

The race will be held at the Georgetown Waterfront Park.

 


 

By Metro

The closest station is Foggy Bottom (10-15 minutes). Note that Metro does not start service until 7AM on the weekends.

We recommend riding Metrorail and Metrobus to the event, especially for friends and family who don’t have to bring many things with them.

There is also the Circulator bus that runs through Georgetown. The Race Site is a 10 minute walk from Wisconsin Ave and M Street, NW. For more information about the Circulator bus, please visit: http://www.dccirculator.com/

 

Parking

Street Parking: There is usually a good amount of parking on K street along the Georgetown Waterside, directly below the Whitehurst Freeway. This is metered parking. Usually available in the morning and impossible to find after 9AM.

Paid Garage Parking: Most paid parking runs around $8.00 to $10.00 per day and is readily avaliable. The closest paid lots are in the Watergate Complex, Washington Harbour, and at the Kennedy Center.

Festival Grounds Located at Georgetown Waterfront Park. Open to teams and the general public

Prime Viewing Areas

Festival Grounds and the pedestrian walkway along Georgetown Harbour

 

Race Course: There will be 4 to 5 250m / 500m racing lanes. All lanes are over 3 meters in depth with less than 0.3 meters difference between lanes. The course and lanes will be clearly marked by buoys.

Recycling Policy: Festival Recycling Program offered again for 2009!!! Bins marked with Recycling will be available near the Information Tent and through the Festival Grounds for recyclable items. Trash Policy: Team Captains will be handed trash bags for their teams at Race Day Registration. Please use the trash bags for all trash. Trash bags need to be thrown into the large TBC trash bins located alongside the TBC building. Smaller trash cans will be place through the festival grounds.
